Meet the wonderful team that bring LMA Academy to life!

Laura Magann

Principle & Head Vocal Coach

Laura has been teaching one to one singing lessons since 2015 and founded LMA during the summer of 2020. Laura specialises in teaching Musical Theatre, Classical and Pop singing as well as Performance training, Sing for Health and Mentoring. She has a professional singing career spanning over 20 years having performed her own show all around the world in hotels and Cruise liners including the whole fleet on the prestigious Cunard Lines and P&O Cruises, Saga Cruises, MSC, Tui Cruises and Fred Olsen. Producing shows with LMA academy and passing on her knowledge to her students is Laura’s passion and she is excited for the future of LMA ACADEMY.

Leanne.png
Leanne Askham

Assistant Vocal Coach

Leanne has been singing from a young age and competed in Open Mic UK in 2012 and 2016, reaching the regional and national finals respectively. She has performed at venues including Sheffield City Hall and Dewsbury Town Hall, and has also appeared in amateur productions at the Rotherham Civic Theatre and Dinnington Lyric Theatre. Leanne has been a coach at LMA since September 2021, teaching across Minis, Juniors, Performing Arts, and Adults. She is also a member of the Adults group, where she not only performs but also arranges musical numbers for LMA Adult shows. Leanne has recently expanded LMA’s offering by also providing one to one singing lessons for all age groups. As a trainer, Leanne is passionate about both learning and singing, and enjoys bringing the two together in her work. Her patience and supportive approach help students build confidence, step out of their comfort zones, and explore new techniques.

Nicola Threlkeld

Performance  Coach and Creative Lead

Nicola joined LMA Singing and Performing Arts’ adult group in 2021 and quickly discovered a true passion for performance, singing, and drama. Since then, she has taken on a variety of roles, from starring in pantomimes to performing in a range of shows, making her journey both exciting and rewarding. Inspired by her experiences on stage, Nicola has also become more involved behind the scenes as part of the production team, alongside supporting as a coach. She is passionate about working with the incredibly talented Minis, Juniors, and Performing Arts students, and takes great pride in helping to nurture their confidence, creativity, and love for the stage.

Sarah Wood

Choreographer

Sarah has been dancing from a young age and specialises in Ballet, Tap, and Modern Jazz. She began assisting at a local dance school at just 14 and continues to teach within the local community. Sarah became part of the LMA family in 2021 when her youngest child joined. She initially supported choreography for the Minis group, and her role has since grown significantly. She now choreographs for a wide range of LMA productions across Minis, Juniors, and Performing Arts, and more recently has contributed to LMA Adults after joining the group herself in 2023. Sarah is passionate about working with young people and helping them build confidence in their performances. She strongly believes that singing and dancing are good for both the mind and the soul, and for her, music is simply part of everyday life. She particularly enjoys combining movement with singing, recognising how it lifts energy, enhances storytelling, and brings performances to life.

Imogen Threlkeld

Mini & Juniors Coach 
& Vocal Leader

Imogen has been part of LMA since the very beginning, starting in the Junior group before progressing to private lessons. She is currently a member of the Performing Arts group, taking part in a variety of shows and pantomimes. In 2023, she became a Student Vocal Coach, supporting Laura in teaching the Minis and Junior group — a role she has truly loved. Helping each student grow in confidence, shine, and achieve their very best brings her so much joy. Alongside this, Imogen is continuing to develop her skills in sound, lighting, and show direction. She is due to achieve her GCSE Drama qualification in August and plans to go on to study Theatre Studies at A-level.

Ella Klinkenberg

Minis & Juniors Assistant 
& LMA Dance Leader

Ella has been part of LMA for around five years, during which time she has taken part in a wide range of shows and performances. She is extremely passionate about acting, singing, and dancing, and takes great pride in representing and teaching at LMA. Now a member of the Performing Arts group, Ella has recently stepped into the role of Assistant Youth Leader for both Minis and Juniors. This reflects her dedication, reliability, and the strong skills she brings to the team. She plays an important role in supporting younger students, helping them build confidence, develop their abilities, and feel part of the LMA community, while continuing to grow in her own performance journey.
