Meet the wonderful team that bring LMA Academy to life!

Laura Magann

Principle & Head Vocal Coach

Laura has been teaching one to one singing lessons since 2015 and founded LMA during the summer of 2020. Laura specialises in teaching Musical Theatre, Classical and Pop singing as well as Performance training, Sing for Health and Mentoring.

She has a professional singing career spanning over 20 years having performed her own show all around the world in hotels and Cruise liners including the whole fleet on the prestigious Cunard Lines and P&O Cruises, Saga Cruises, MSC, Tui Cruises and Fred Olsen. Producing shows with LMA academy and passing on her knowledge to her students is Laura’s passion and she is excited for the future of LMA ACADEMY.

Leanne Askham

Assistant Vocal Coach

LMA Adult Singers

Leanne has been singing since she was young and has competed in Open Mic UK in 2012 and 2016, reaching the regional and national finals respectively, where she performed at Sheffield City Hall and Dewsbury Town Hall. She has also appeared in amateur productions at the Rotherham Civic theatre.

Leanne has been a coaching at LMA since September 2021 and during this time she has taught classes for Minis, Juniors, Performing Arts and Adults.


As well as taking part Leanne has also arranged multiple musical numbers for some of the LMA Adult shows in recent years.

Leanne is a trainer and has a strong passion for both learning and singing, so doing both is something she really loves to be able to do, and with her patience is able to bring students out of their shell and consider new techniques.

Imy Hayes

Coach: Mini, Juniors & Performing Arts

Imy graduated from the prestigious SLP college in 2021, She trained professionally in the three disciplines of singing, acting and dance on the Musical theatre acting pathway.

 

Imy has developed a love for teaching at LMA, which allows her to share her knowledge with young students and this is something she finds extremely enjoyable and rewarding, watching them progress and grow in confidence.

 

Imy is incredibly passionate about the arts industry and likes to keep her lessons fun and exciting, with her teaching style being full of enthusiasm and positivity encouraging her students to be expressive and confident when they perform.

Jo Brooks

Assistant Drama Coach

Jo is a lover of all things Musical Theatre and she has appeared in many amateur productions at the Rotherham Civic Theatre.


She joined LMA in 2020 initially attending the LMA Adult Singers then also having one to one voice lessons and has since performed in many LMA concerts.


Jo is passionate about supporting LMA and working with the young people and is on hand as an assistant with LMA productions and also as a coach at our Performing Arts class helping the youngsters to gain confidence, believe in themselves and have fun!!!
